This site is meant to complement our store site by providing helpful information to help your buying decision, provide information you may find useful in your racing activities, and to provide a handy soapbox to present our views on the grassroots racing world. We have been around the racing block a few times, and we can remember quite well how challenging it once was to get any sort of racing information. When we became gearheads, there was no internet, no Speed TV, and few magazines devoted to any racing topics other than drag racing. For racing on TV, there was Indy, the Daytona 500, and the Monaco Gran Prix. That was it. There was no sports car racing coverage in most newspapers, so if you wanted to know who won the French Grand Prix you had to wait for the mailman to deliver Road and Track, and in that publication you could find out who won the race run about four months ago. This is not a problem anymore. There are sports and car channels on TV, and magazines for any special racing interest on the newsrack. The internet provides a seemingly limitless source of fact and opinion on virtually every topic you can dream up. But, there is a new problem: too much information of dubious value. So, we have provided this site to provide detailed product information, buying guides, vendor links, and other information sources to give you facts and informed opinions on racing products and racing in general. ABOUT C2 RACERS There are really two C's in C2- Coe (Steve) and Chapman (Ron). Both are long-time active racers, and each brings some qualities to C2 which makes it a truly unique race shop. Steve Steve has been in the auto parts and racing business all of his adult life. To give you some idea of the just how long that is, his first race car was a new Vega GT. Steve began his career at the parts counter of a dealership, and has since has worked at and managed speed shops and well as spending several years working with Dan Gurney's All-American Racers during both its GTP and Indycar eras. Steve has raced in just about every form of paved car racing you can find in Southern California, and won championships in just about all of them. This runs the gamut from autocross and road racing to circle track. He has held the ITC and Spec RX7 track records at Willow Springs. To keep sharp, he autocrosses and karts regularly while he finishes prepping a Spec RX7 for a return to NASA and SCCA road racing. With his parts and racing experience, Steve has an incredible depth of knowledge of what it takes to make a race car go fast while keeping the driver safe. Ron C2 Motorsports is Ron's first business venture in the world of racing. He is a finance professional by trade. Although this is his first professional racing venture, Ron's racing activities date back to 1990, when he completed the Jim Russell Racing School at Laguna Seca (not counting certain youthful indiscretions, that is). In the years since, Ron has competed in hundreds of autocrosses, track days, and other racing events. He is a three time regional autocross champion (C Street Prepared in a CRX, G Stock in a Camaro, and C Stock in a Miata) and cars he has built have won championships in two other classes (E Prepared and IS2). He travels regularly to compete in national level autocross events. With fifteen years as a consumer of racing products, Ron has developed both an extensive knowledge of car products and a real feel for what makes the purchasing process best for the buyer. The Brain Trust There is another resource that C2 brings to bear to help its customers-Steve and Ron's extensive network within San Diego's racing community. They are blessed with the friendship of some extremelyaccomplished and intelligent racers, ranging from other successful grassroots competitors to Trans Am crew chiefs to a former F1 champion. So, if they don't know the answer to a question right off the top, they can easily find a truly expert source to help fill in the gaps.
